Horses think, smell and react different on each side of their brain, so it’s important to train each side as a separate horse. For that reason, it takes a lot of time to train a horse well. A good trainer isn’t training just two horses, in reality, he is training four - and as a general rule, one side is more difficult than the other. What you teach on one side, you have to teach on the other to get a truly well-trained horse. Remember, for every horse, you actually have two.
